Projects / Biologic Building Heat Pump Project (Alexion Athlone)

Removal of natural gas usage. Reducing carbon footprint.

Heat Pump install in Biologic Building

In 2022, Alexion sought to develop their existing manufacturing facility. A project that involved unique design and install of a heat pump to reduce the facility’s dependency on natural gas and lower their carbon footprint. The 4-pipe heat pump electrified low pressure hot water for space heating, replacing the existing conventional gas boiler. Rockwell carried out PSCS responsibilities for the duration of the project, as well as installing the corresponding pipework systems in order to connect the heat pump to the existing facility.

Contracted directly to EM3, the project was completed on schedule this year.
